Instagram, the world’s most popular social media platform, is exploring new ways to help people verify their age and comply with social media rules. it is also known to have a lot of new features.
Instagram’s Meta property application is testing video selfies with facial testing software as a new way to determine age. it’s also the main reason why some Instagram users are trying to get around its 13+ age rule by editing their birthdays to appear older than 18.
As more of this information is coming out, young Americans taking the test will now be given three strategies to verify their age: they will have to upload an ID, ask three adult users to vouch for them, or videotape a selfie. Instagram’s Meta says it hopes the new methods will give teens an “age-appropriate experience” on Instagram.
The technology will be operational soon.
moreover if teens repeat the same topics on Instagram pages they will be “nudged” to check out other content, and encouraged to “take a break” if they scroll through the reels continually.
